1. 表示方式或方法，通常是可数名词；表示条理或秩序，通常是不可数名词。如：

2. 表示做某事的方法，其后通常接 of doing sth。如：

What’s the best method of cooking beef? 烤牛肉的最好方法是什么?

He tried to change the normal methods of work. 他设法要改变通常的工作方法。

有时接 for doing sth，但不如接of doing sth 常见。如：

偶尔也后接不定式，但远不如上面两种用法普通。

3. 表示用某种方法，通常用介词 by。如：
