考点12  将语法知识与生活常识结合考查

有的的名词考题在考查有关语法知识的同时，还兼顾考查考生的生活常识。

【考例】I like________ a lot, and my mother usually cooks it in different ways.

A. fish                   B. butter                 C. potatoes           D. noodles

【分析】A。根据句中的cooks it可知，填空处只能填单数名词，不能填复数名词，故可排除C和D；又因为butter不能被“煮”(cook)，故可排除B。

还有些名词考题与语法知识相关性不大，而是纯粹地考查考生的生活常识。

【考例】—It’s said that you have moved into a new house.

—Yeah, and we need to buy some ________ in the mall nearby.

A. food                  B. furniture           C. hamburger

【分析】B。根据常识可知，“搬了新房子”应该是“购买新家具”，不应该是“购买食物”“购买汉堡”之类的。
