巴基斯坦总理争取中国投资
Pakistan's prime minister attempted Thursday to convert some of the soaring rhetoric that has accompanied his four-day visit to China into hard cash.Speaking at a Chinese business forum a day after a mutually laudatory meeting with Premier Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani urged Chinese investors to consider Pakistan as they draw up their future business plans.
Mr. Gilani particularly stressed the potential for investment in Pakistan's energy sector, saying the opportunities include hydro, thermal and renewable energy sources. The prime minister did not specifically mention nuclear energy. However the United States and other governments have been concerned about Pakistan's Chasma nuclear reactor, which opened with Chinese assistance last week. China is also helping to finance two more nuclear reactors at the same site, even though Pakistan has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty.
