America's Vincent Hancock takes lead in men's skeet qualification

(BEIJING, April 19) -- Vincent Hancock of the United States has taken the lead during the first round of the men's skeet qualification event with the score of 74 at the Good Luck Beijing 2008 ISSF World Cup on Saturday, April 19, at the Beijing Shooting Range CTF.

The current world record holder missed only one target out of 75 during the first stage of qualification on Saturday, followed by Russians Valeriy Shomin and Konstantin Tsuranov with identical scores of 73. The second stage of qualification will start on Sunday morning with 50 more targets. Six qualifiers will then be confirmed according to their total scores for the final event starting at 15:00 on Sunday.

The results of the first stage of the men's skeet qualification are as follows:
