Roddick, Ivanovic to make their debut in China Open in September

BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. top tennis player Andy Roddick and women's number two Ana Ivanovic will make their debut in this year's China Open, set for Sept. 20-28 at the Beijing Tennis Center, organizers announced here Wednesday.The world men's No. 6 Spanish player David Ferrer and Serbian Jelena Jankovic, have also confirmed their entry to the China Open, the organizing committee of the China Open said at a press conference.In addition, both men's and women's champions in 2007, Chile's Fernando Gonzalez and Hungarian Szavay, will return to defend their crowns.According to the organizers, this year's men's and women's China Open will be held at the same time, which means all 88 matches will be finished in nine days, one week shorter than the previous tournaments.
