(BEIJING, May 29) -- The 2008 Singapore Super Series is scheduled to kick off on June 10 and will last for five days. This will be the fifth leg of the Super Series and an important competition where contenders will have a chance to not only improve on their rankings, but also boost their confidence ahead of the Games.

Malaysian Lee Chong Wei, who is now ranked second in the world, is expected to come out triumphant in the Men's Singles competition, as other top contenders, including Chinese shuttlers world No. 1, Lin Dan, world No. 3 Bao Chunlai and No. 4 Chen Jin, as well big guns Park Sung-hwan and Lee Hyun-il of the Republic of Korea, will not compete in Singapore.

The Malaysian doubles pair of Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong is also favored to win the title due to the absence of many top-ranked shuttlers.
