Serbians to meet in Roland Garros semis

(BEIJING, June 5) -- Serbian Ana Ivanovic beat Swiss athlete Patty Schnyder 6-3, 6-2 in the French Open quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, another Serbian player, Jelena Jankovic, disposed of Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3, 6-2 on Lenglen Court.

This means that the two Serbians will meet each other in the semi-finals at Roland Garros.

Similar in technique and power, No. 2 seed Ivanovic was the runner up in the 2007 French Open, while No. 3 seed Jankovic competed as one of the last four players at Roland Garros last year. Of the six times the two players knocked heads, Ivanovic won 5.

Ivanovic is more than ready to compete for the title, according to the Roland Garros website. "I feel like different player this year," she said. "I don't want to forget last year. I want to remember it and use it to play better."
