Ten-man Paraguay beat Brazil in the South American World Cup qualifier

2008-06-17来源:
(BEIJING, June 16) -- With a defender sent off early in the second half, the ten-man Paraguay still crashed Brazil 2-0 in front of 35,000 fans at Sunday's South American World Cup qualifier in the Defensores del Chaco Stadium of Asuncion, as reported by the Turkishpress.

Team Brazil seemed to be playing a soulless game without Kaka and Ronaldinho on the field.  This, though, has been their usual status recently. Roque Santa Cruz scored the first goal at the 25th minute before Salvador Cabanas pushed Paraguay further on the way to victory with the second goal soon after Dario Veron was sent off.

Paraguay now scores 13, staying atop the South American World Cup qualifying list, three points well ahead of Argentina. This leaves Brazil and Argentina with no choice but a life-or-death fight in Belo Horizonte on Wednesday.
