Four counties short-listed to host AIBA boxing academy

(BEIJING, June 23) -- Canada, China, Kazakhstan and Russia have been short-listed for hosting the International Boxing Association's (AIBA) inaugural Boxing Academy, according to the AIBA official website.

The four candidate cities are Becancour (Canada), Sanya (China), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Podolsk (Russia). The host city will be finalized in Beijing during an AIBA Executive Committee meeting scheduled for August 18.

AIBA Boxing Academies will provide systematic training to help promote and develop the sport. The training programs cover athlete training, coaching, refereeing and administration.
