Spain destroys Russia 3-0, will play Germany in final

(BEIJING, June 27) -- The one-sided Euro Cup semifinal saw Spain continue to march forward in the quest for their second Euro Cup title, an honor they have not had since 1964, when the final was played in Spain.  

Coach Luis Aragones put Xabi Alonso and Daniel Guiza on after Xavi Hernandez curled a shot by Andres Iniesta to score a goal in the 50th minute. Guiza converted a smart over-header from Cesc Fabregas into a point with 17 minutes left, and the last goal came from David Silva ten minutes later, out of another assist from Fabregas. 

Russia, who held 35 percent of the possession, was no problem for Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas，especially since star striker Andrei Arshavin was almost invisible on court. In the 88th minute, Russia’s Dmitri Sychev almost scored a goal with a header, but Casillas managed to save it.
