(BEIJING, July 2) -- Malaysia's top shuttler, Lee Chong Wei, will receive written notes of encouragement from teammates, coaches and substitutes ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing to build up mental strength. As the Beijing Olympic Games draw near, the pressure is mounting for Olympic-bound athletes. Many of them experience stress or even nervous breakdowns. To help athletes better deal with the stress, mental trainers have come up with various methods.According to the Badminton Association of Malaysia, mental trainer Frederick Tan planned a series of stress-easing activities for Beijing-bound players. One of these tactics involves everyone on the Olympic squad writing motivating and inspiring notes to Lee Chong Wei and his girlfriend, Wong Mew Choo, who will be playing on the women's side."It is a good activity to show that everyone cares and supports these players," Tan said. "It will be good for Chong Wei and Mew Choo to hear positive messages every day. They will know that they are not alone in their mission to win at the Olympics."As the second ranked shuttler in the world and reigning champion of the Singapore Open, Chong Wei will surely be a focus of attention going into the Olympic Games.
