Biggest ever Chinese Athletics squad to attend Games

(BEIJING, July 27) -- China's 77-member Athletics squad chosen to attend the Beijing Olympic Games is the largest ever in history.

There are 32 male athletes and 45 female athletes in the Chinese Athletics delegation to Beijing.

Among the medal hopefuls are Liu Xiang, 2004 Olympic gold medallist in the Men's 110m Hurdles; Zhang Wenxiu, bronze medallist in the Women's Hammer Throw at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka; and Zhou Chunxiu, female champion of the 2007 London Marathon.

The Chinese Athletics team will compete in 33 (70%) of the 47 Athletics events in Beijing.
