4.10 Refuse 拒绝

M: Why don't you sit down and relax, darling?

M：亲爱的，坐下休息一会吧？

W: I don't want to.

W：我不想。

M: Well, come over and talk to me then.
M：嗯，那过来跟我聊聊。

W: Certainly not.
W：不想。

M: May I turn on the TV then?

M：我打开电视行吗？

W: Turn on the TV for what?
W：打开电视干什么？

M: So that we can sit down together and listen to some music.
M：我们可以坐下来听听音乐。

W: Listen to the music? And who will cook dinner, will you?
W：听音乐？谁做饭，你吗？

M: I will, but let's go to the disco after dinner.

M：好，我做。晚饭后去跳迪斯科吧？

W: To a disco? Oh, no. You know I hate it.
W：跳迪斯科？不去，你知道我讨厌迪斯科。

注释：

“For what?”是口语中一个很常见的问句，意思和“Why?”一样，但比“Why?”更口语化，有时候也会用“W
hat for?”。
