A:Did you see the fashion awards last night?
A:你看了昨晚的时装颁奖晚会没有？

B:I sat through about half of it but they lost me after that.
B:我看了大约一半就走了。

A:Not interested?
A:不感兴趣？

B:Not really, to be honest. Some of what they call fashion looks terri-ble to me.
B:老实说，不是很感兴趣。他们所谓的一些时装在我看来太差劲了。

A:But they are showing what will be all the rage next year.

B:All the rage with whom?  I never see anyone wearing these designs on the street.

A:Did you know that fashion is cyclical?

B:What,it keeps coming back?

A:Precisely!For example,Flares were popular for a while,then went out of fashion. Now we can start to see them coming back in again.
A:没错！喇叭裤就曾经流行了．阵子，随后过时了。现在，我们发现它又开始流行起来了。

B:Flares?
B:喇叭裤？

A:They're also known as bell-bottoms. They are a type of trousers.
A:他们是种钟形裤管的裤子。

B:lt's too complicated.I'II just stick to the plain clothes.

A:That's fine, but then you'II always look plain.
A:那也可以，但你看起来可就显得老土了。
