Steven and Tom are talking about the problem between the young and the old.

Tom: Lots of elderly people want peace and quiet in their old age, but young people want an unconstrained life.
汤姆：很多老年人都希望白己的晚年生活能清净些，年轻人向往的却是无拘无束。

Steven: It would be good for both  if they lived separately. My parents want to live apart from us．
史蒂文：如果分开过，就两全其美了。我父母就希望和我们分开生活。

Tom: What if old people are in poor health and need to be looked after?
汤姆：老年人身体不好需要照顾怎么办？

Steven: Young people ought to carry out their responsibilities. If it's needed, they would live with their parents.
史蒂文：年轻人当然要承担责任，如果需要的话，他们会回到父母身边一起生活的。

Tom: When I’m old, I’ll also be like that.
汤姆：等我老了，我也这样。

Steven: You need a child first, and that's your duty, too.
史蒂文：那也得先有孩子呀，那也是你的职责。

Tom: I know that's what I must do.
汤姆：我知道那是我必须要做的。
