用：较正式用法。用做对请求的比较客气的答应或许诺。
意：可以.当然可以;完全可以;好的。好的;请，一好了
例：If you feel you need to ask any questions, by all means do so.
假如有问题想问，请问好了。
By all means use my name when you apply for the job.
申请这份工作时提到我的名字(指作为证明人)好啦。
A: Can I have one?
可以给我一个吗?
B : Yes, by all means.
当然可以啦。

By no means!

用：此套语有以下两种用法:
（1）较正式用法与by ali means意思相反
意：绝对不可以!当然不行!
例.No, you can't take that one-by no means?
不行，你不能拿那个—绝对不能拿!
A: Gan I go home now?
现在我可以回家了吗?
B: By no means!
绝对不可以!

（2）表示强调也说not by any means
意：根本不，绝不是
例，I' m by no means certain to win.
我没一点把握能赢。
He's not the best person for the job by any means.
干这项工作他绝对不是最合适的人。

意：怎么，?将如何，..?相当于How...?
Even if I agree to let you go, by what means are you going to get there on Sunday?
