1. be similar to
相像的;相仿的;类似的;
eg. This is similar to how car enthusiasts attend auto shows even though one cannot purchase a car at those events.
这就像车迷不见得买得起汽车,却不妨碍他们参观车展一样。
eg. His stance towards the story is quite similar to ours.
他对该报道的态度和我们很相像。
2. tend to think
个人认为;个人觉得;
eg. I tend to think that members of parliament by and large do a good job.
我个人觉得,议会议员总体上工作还是不错的。
eg. Young people tend to act without thinking. Old people tend to think without acting.
年轻人往往不加思考就盲目行动,老年人总是瞻前顾后就是不见行动。
3. prefer to
更喜欢,宁愿;
eg. I prefer to see animals in their natural habitat, rather than in zoos.
我宁愿观赏居住在自然栖息地里的动物,而不愿看关在动物园里的动物。
eg. Some people prefer to brazen a thing out rather than admit defeat.
有的人不愿承认失败,而是宁肯厚着脸皮干下去。
4. would like to do sth.
(表示愿意)想要;
eg. I would like to think over the matter.
我要认真考虑一下这件事情。
eg. I would like to talk with you for a minute.
我想和你谈一下。
5. for sure
无疑;肯定;
eg. For sure, we're headed for a time of abundance, at least in quantity.
毫无疑问,我们正迈向一个信息丰富(至少在数量上是这样)的时代。
eg. The museum's P.R. man was going to be dragged over the coals for sure.
