Change Your Attitude, Change Your Life - Books to Help You Find the PMA Inside You

2008-03-25来源:

Many of the books on this page were inspired by the late great Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, God rest his soul, who encouraged us all to have a PMA every day!

Failing ForwardJohn C. Maxwell

Dr. Maxwell does it again with a FANTASTIC novel about failing, or rather, what we can learn from not succeeding. I agree 100% with Maxwell when he says "Failure is simply the price we pay to achieve success." Put another way, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Try something new, and you may not succeed the first time. SO WHAT! Try again, learn from your mistakes, and soon you will succeed!

Remember the story of the glass, and the optimist and the pessimist? Optimist sees it as half full, pessimist sees it half empty. Which is correct? Both and neither. No matter what, it's just half a glass of water. The key is how you deal with it. This book taught me that about failure, and I think it could teach you that, and more! Pick it up today.

As a Man Thinketh James Allen

James Allen's website has many great resources and newsletters. The book As A Man Thinketh is free to download from here and the rest of the articles are excellent as well.

Think and Grow Rich Napoleon Hill

An all-time favorite of mine. Written in what seems like pre-historic times (the early 20th century) but still applicable today. Worth the read if you haven't already had the chance, or a re-read if it's been a while.

Attitude is Everything Keith Harrell

This book is GREAT! I liked it so much, I even bought Keith's "Attitude Cards," available on his website. Keith was a guy who didn't quite make it to the NBA, so he worked at IBM and learned that a good attitude is the most crucial component for one's success. Great tips on how to get, and keep, a great attitude.

Fred FactorMark Sanborn

Be a Fred! Have a positive attitude! Just gotta do it, and gotta love the way Mark puts it out there, especially with his "Fred" being a postal carrier. If someone from the USPS can be a positive role model and warrant a book, SO CAN YOU! It all starts with YOUR attitude! You can make a difference!

Phil Gerbyshak leads a team of IT help desk professionals in Milwaukee, WI, and finds that sharing his knowledge is a crucial component in his success as a leader and as a person. Phil's personal philosophy is paraphrased from Tim Sanders' fantastic book Love is the Killer App: "Share your knowledge, your network, and your love. The rest will follow."
