青海玉树救灾凝聚全民力量

　　The death toll from a 7.1-magnitude earthquake in northwest China's Qinghai Province has risen to 1706, rescuers said Friday.

　　据救援者今早透露，位于中国西北部的青海省发生的7.1级地震造成的死亡人数，现已上升到了1706人。

　　The latest statistics show that 243 people were missing and 11,477 injured, 1,174 severely, said a spokesman with the rescue headquarters in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in southern Qinghai.

　　YUSHU, Qinghai - Thousands of rescuers battled strong winds and altitude sickness amid aftershocks to reach survivors Thursday, one day after a 7.1-magnitude quake killed 617 and injured 9,110.

　　The strongest and deadliest tremor in almost two years also left 313 missing, mostly in Yushu prefecture of Qinghai.

　　More than 15,000 residential buildings - or 85 percent of all homes, mostly mud-and-wood structures - have been flattened, and 100,000 people have been made homeless.
