　　The fashion group Gucci has appointed Sarah Burton as creative director at Alexander McQueen, the label whose creator killed himself in February.

　　After McQueen’s death the idea that the label could not live on without him was soon quashed by its owners. It was apparent that the brand still had vast commercial potential.
