圣诞节送现金成风尚
Despite dads often being the main bread-winner in a household, just 1 per cent of Britons plan to spend the most money on their fathers this Christmas, according to a survey into family buying habits by supermarket Sainsbury’s.

A poll of 1,500 customers by the supermarket found that daughters are more popular than sons. Around 12 per cent of people said that they will spend the most on their daughter, while 10 per cent said they will spend the most on their son.

Partners and spouses are the most spoiled. Almost one in four people said they will spend the most on their partner this Christmas.

Cash will also feature strongly this Christmas. More than half of Britons are planning to give cash as a present this year, the Payments Council has found. It expects a total of ?2.4 billion in cash will be given over the festive period.
