　　The word “comedy” originated from the Greek root “komos” meaning “merry making” + “aoidos” meaning “singer。” A comedian is a professional entertainer who entertains by telling amusing anecdotes, wordplay, or by acting in an engaging and humorous manner. In literature, a comedy is a story with a happy ending。

　　Popularly known as Charlie Chaplain, Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in Walworth, London, England on April 16, 1889 and died on Christmas day in 1977. His iconic appearance with mustaches, bowler hat, and walking stick is best envisaged by himself as, "I thought I would dress in baggy pants, big shoes, a cane, and a Derby hat. Everything a contradiction: the pants baggy, the coat tight, the hat small, and the shoes large."

　　1889年4月16日，通常被人们称呼为卓别林的查尔斯·斯宾塞·卓别林英格兰伦敦的Walworth出生了。逝世于1977年的圣诞节。他标志性的装扮是：八字胡，圆顶礼帽，手杖。这个形象完全符合他自己的设想：“我想我会穿着宽松的裤子，大鞋子，一根手杖和一顶圆顶礼帽。所有的服装都互不搭调：裤子很宽松，外套很紧，帽子很小，鞋子很大。”

　　This is perhaps the most identified picture in the world. Charlie Chaplin lived an abject Dickensian childhood and was influenced by his music hall actress mother Hannah Hill with a failed career。
