11. Listening 5.2. You will hear 2 members of the student union at a university talking about the social activities exhibition. Before you listen you have some time to look at questions 5 to 8. Now as you listen answer questions 5 to 8.
M1: Have you finished the plan for the social activities exhibition?
M2: Well, most of it. But I am still not sure where to put the last few booths. I was hoping that you could help me out.
M1: Yeah, no worries. Let me have a look at the plan. Well, if it looks good so far, what about the student’s newspaper? I don’t see it here.
M2: That’s one of the areas I am not sure about. At first I was going to put in the next football club, but I spoke to the newspaper’s editor yesterday, and she said she wanted the booth near the center on the exhibition.
M1: There is still one area left near the food and drink store, right?
M2: Yes, but the community radio station wants the same area.
M1: Mm, oh, I see. But the radio station is going to be broadcasting life isn’t it? What if we put the student newspaper next to the food and drink store, and the community radio station in a bigger area next to the modern dance association?
M2: That’s a good idea. I am sure that they will be happy to have a larger space to put all their equipment in. What about the movie group?
M1: The area in the top left hand corner of the plan seems to have a lot of sports clubs. So why don’t we makes it up a bit. We can put the movie group between the football club and the hockey club.
M2: Yes, you are right. I haven’t thought about that. Maybe we should give the musician circle the space between the football club and the Robili club.
M1: That sounds good. Oh, wait a minute. Their president said they wanted to be quite close to some of the dance organizations, because a lot of students interested in dance also interested in music. What about the space below the Robili club?
M2: Yes, that’s fine. OK. I’d better go and type up the final plan so I can give you group a copy.
M1: All right, but before you go we need to arrange time to meet later this week.
