The Prime Minister says his talks with Donald Trump on Iran did not go beyond Australia's standing commitment to help maintain safety of navigation in the Straits of Hormuz. It follows drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities that are being blamed on Iran, and the US announcing it will send troops to Saudi Arabia. Scott Morrison says plans that are being pursued by Washington are a matter for the US administration.
Iran says it's ready to destroy any country that launches an attack on its territory. The warning comes after the US announced it was sending troops to Saudi Arabia following last week's attack on Saudi oil facilities. Iran denies it was behind the drone attack.
The two victims of a light plane crash on the New South Wales mid-north coast on Friday have been identified. Jeffrey Hills and his son Matthew Hills were killed when their plane crashed in Dorigo National Park near Coffs Harbour. Their bodies were recovered yesterday and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau is conducting an investigation.
