A former school principal has landed in Victoria to face charges of child sexual abuse. Malka Leifer arrived at Melbourne's airport overnight after being extradited from Israel on Monday. She'll spend 14 days in quarantine and is expected to appear in court today via video link. Leifer is accused of abusing three sisters during her time as head mistress of the Adass Israel School between 2001 and 2008. The former principal maintains her innocence.
The community of Alexandra Hills in Brisbane's east has come together to mourn a couple killed in Tuesday's horror road smash with a vigil held at the site of their deaths. Kate Leadbetter, who was pregnant, and her partner, Matthew Field, were walking their dogs on Tuesday afternoon when they were allegedly struck and killed by a stolen four-wheel drive. A 17-year-old male has been remanded in custody charged with two counts of murder and several other offences.
