The White House has been accused of trying to cover up details of a phone call between Donald Trump and the Ukrainian president that sparked a so-called landmark impeachment inquiry. A declassified version of a whistle blower complaint, released by US officials, reveals the transcript of the phone call was not stored in the usual computer system. As the scandal continues to unfold, the New York Times is now reporting that Donald Trump has said whoever provided the information is in his view 'close to a spy.' Talking to the media this morning, Mr Trump once again denied any wrong doing.

UK prime minister Boris Johnson has suffered another blow, losing his seventh consecutive vote in the Commons. British MPs rejected the government's request for a three-day recess for the Conservatives Party conference. It's the seventh vote the government has lost out of eight, since Boris Johnson became prime minister.
An Australian caught in legal limbo in Bulgaria says he's being used as a political pawn. Jock Palfreeman remains locked up in an immigration detention facility, despite being granted parole last week. Bulgaria's prosecutor general is fighting to keep him behind bars.
