ABC新闻:IMF预测全球经济将遭受一个世纪以来最严重衰退

The prime minister has issued a direct plea to teachers this morning, urging them to keep schools open. It comes as several states embark on a massive program of remote learning affecting millions of students and their families. Scott Morrison says the risk of COVID-19 spreading among school aged-children is very low, and it's vital that kids are able to attend school.
And there's more evidence this morning of the devastating economic impact of the shutdowns — with the International Monetry Fund predicting the worst economic downturn in a century.

Close to two million people have now tested positive to coronavirus around the world. More than 125-thousand people have died. The United States continues to be the worst affected country with almost six hundred thousand cases.
And Cardinal George Pell has accused Victoria police of "advertising for business" to try to build criminal cases against him. He made the remarks in his first interview since the high court last week quashed his convictions for child sexual abuse. The broadcast came as the Herald Sun newspaper reported that cardinal Pell is now being investigated by Victoria police over an alleged incident that occurred in the 1970's. The Herald Sun report did not suggest the allegation was true, and the cardinal has always vehemently denied all claims of sexual abuse. He told Sky News commentator Andrew Bolt it's quite possible Victoria police will continue to pursue him.
