A Sydney court has blocked a planned rally for refugee rights this weekend. New South Wales police took legal action against the organisers, claiming they were playing Russian roulette with the health of attendees. The court has decided in favour of the police, meaning anyone who attends Saturday's rally may be arrested. Concerns about the safety of public gatherings have been underlined by news that a protester at last week's Black Lives Matter rally in Melbourne has tested positive to COVID-19, raising fears of an outbreak linked to the huge protests.
The reopening of state borders and easing coronavirus restrictions will be at the top of the agenda when state and territory leaders talk to the prime minister today. National cabinet is set to discuss when Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia will open up interstate travel. Many states have said they'll consider the issue when they move to stage three of easing restrictions next month — but the PM has made it clear he wants them to name a date.

And Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has told an American talk show that he is worried Donald Trump will attempt to steal the US election. Appearing on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah Mr Biden said he also believes the president may refuse to leave the white house if he loses the election.
