Roads in North and South Carolina are still flooded after Hurricane Matthew's devastating impacts across the South. Law enforcement officials have conducted numerous water rescues in both states. Officials warned to stay off roads no matter how deep the flood waters may appear to be.

Almost a week after parts of Haiti were hit by Hurricane Matthew, communities are getting desperate. Power is still out, and water and food are scarce as relief convoys are being halted by young men putting up blockades in villages on the way to hard-hit cities.

Commuter rail service has resumed at a New Jersey transit station damaged after a train crash killed a woman on the platform and injured more than 100. Eight of the 17 tracks at Hoboken Terminal reopened on Monday.

And a bald eagle that somehow managed to get wedged into the front grill of a Florida car was freed unharmed by police after Hurricane Matthew roared past the area. The bird could be seen peering out of a passenger car on Saturday in the storm's aftermath. It is now at a wildlife sanctuary in Jacksonville.
