President-elect Donald Trump is making his first visit to Washington since his election. Trump met with President Barack Obama at the White House and then went to Capitol Hill to meet with GOP congressional leaders.

A federal grand jury has indicted former congressman Aaron Schock on 24 counts. He resigned last year over scrutiny of lavish spending.

A gunman with a history of domestic abuse fatally shot a police officer and wounded a second in Western Pennsylvania Thursday. A man and a woman were later found dead following a reported fight at their apartment.

And President Obama welcomed LeBron James and the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers to the White House. Obama said the Cavaliers know how important their world championship victory was to the city.
