President-elect Donald Trump is filling out his cabinet with his latest two picks. Trump formally announced his choice of ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson to be his Secretary of State. Meanwhile, AP sources say that Trump has selected former Texas Governor Rick Perry to lead the Energy Department.

The U.N. envoy for Syria says he is discussing a planned ceasefire in eastern Aleppo at the Security Council and that safe withdrawal of people from the besieged area is now imminent. Syrian rebels said Tuesday they had reached a ceasefire with Russia to evacuate civilians and fighters from the last enclave in the city.

Firefighters rescued a suburban Chicago woman and her dog from an icy retention pond. The woman's dog was chasing birds when it fell through the ice. The owner attempted her own rescue, using a canoe, but 911 was later called in to assist.

And the final Super Moon of the year has lit up the night sky across Asia. The Super Moon was spotted shining above Beijing and Taipei as it moves closer to Earth, making it appear bigger and brighter than normal.
