Officials say that Russia's ambassador to Turkey has died after being shot by an Ankara police officer. Ambassador Andrei Karlov was speaking at an embassy-sponsored exhibit when the man dressed in a suit and tie fired at least eight shots.
From Pennsylvania to Georgia, demonstrators marched outside state capitals in protest of Monday's electoral college voting. Protestors carried signs and chanted slogans in the hopes of encouraging electors to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton.
Chicago just missed breaking a record Monday morning, but it was still cold enough to close nearly 300 schools, cancel dozens of flights and slow trains. A low of minus 13 was recorded at Ohio International Airport between 4 and 5 a.m..
And the Finnish Santa Claus and Russian Grandfather Frost met at the Finnish-Russian border to exchange gifts on Monday. The annual event celebrates the friendship between two neighbors, includes traditional dancing and singing by performers of both countries.
