Russian officials say they are looking at all possible causes for the crash of a military passenger plane into the Black Sea. 92 people died. The plane went down shortly after takeoff from Sochi on its way to Syria.

Pope Francis has wished Christmas peace for people scarred by wars and those who lost loved ones to terrorism that he says is sowing fear and death in many cities and countries. Francis cited those suffering through the Syrian war, especially during the most awful battles in Aleppo.

A bad cold kept Queen Elizabeth from attending the traditional Christmas morning church service near her Sandringham estate. That raises some concerns about her health. It's extremely rare of the 90 year old to miss the service.

And a chilly dip for these Londoners braving cold waters for a Christmas swim in the London's Hyde Park.
