Arizona Senator John McCain has announced he's opposed to the last-minute GOP health care bill aimed at repealing Obamacare. Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine says she's leaning against the measure despite facing pressure from Maine's governor to support it.
Two days after hurricane Maria tore through Puerto Rico with deadly force, residents continue to fear power could be out for weeks, perhaps even months. Forecasters say the US territory could get even more rain, perhaps as much as 6 inches through Saturday.
Rescuers continue to search for survivors following Mexico's 7.1-magnitude quake. Authorities say some 60 people have been rescued since Tuesday. Friday,the official death toll stood at 286, with more than half the deaths coming in Mexico City.
First Lady Melania Trump has picked up where former first lady Michelle Obama left off, joining school children to plant and harvest vegetables in the White House garden. They planted cabbage, carrots, cauliflower and other vegetables while harvesting peas, radishes and Swiss chard.
