Stocks closed sharply lower on Wall Street Monday as technology companies took heavy losses and investors worried about escalating trade tensions with China. The United States imposed tax on Chinese steel and aluminum. Then China counterpunched with tariffs on a host of U.S. product including apples, pork and ginseng.
Comedian Bill Cosby was back in a Pennsylvania courtroom for the first day of jury selection in his retrial on sexual assault charges. The 80-year-old Cosby is charged with drugging and molesting a former Temple University athletics administrator at his home in 2004.
South African anti-apartheid campaigner Winnie Mandela has died. The 81-year-old is also the ex-wife of Nelson Mandela. And despite shadows of criminal convictions and scandal later in her life, many South Africans consider her the "mother of the nation".
With overcast skies and temperatures in the 40's, President Trump declared it perfect weather for the annual White House Easter egg roll. Nearly 30,000 parents and children were expected to participate in the all-day event.
