New hurricane warnings and watches have been issued for as far north as eastern Canada as hurricane Dorian crawls up the east coast. The storm is moving away from North Carolina's coast after making landfall Friday morning on the outer banks.

Hundreds of people have gathered at a port and airport hoping to escape a Bahamian island devastated by hurricane Dorian. This comes as international aid efforts are slowly arriving. And emergency crews still hunt for survivors and the missing.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said Friday that the FED is not expecting a US or global recession. But it is monitoring a number of uncertainties, including trade conflicts, and will "act as appropriate to sustain the expansion."

And Paul McCaryney visited a London bookshop to launch his latest venture, a children's book titled "Hey Grandude." The former Beatle says the story was inspired by his own experience of being a grandfather.
