Paris expanded its outdoor mask requirements Saturday, and other towns around France started requiring masks outdoors starting on Monday. Infections have been speeding up around France in recent days, with 3,015 new cases Sunday.
President Donald Trump says the postal service is "running very well" amid his fight with Democrats over funding for the agency. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is cutting short lawmakers' summer recess with a vote expected Saturday on legislation that would prohibit changes at the agency.
A French cargo ship loaded with tons of humanitarian aid docked in Beirut on Monday, carrying supplies for those affected by the massive explosion earlier this month. French troops started unloading supplies that will be delivered to the Lebanese Red Cross, and then to those made homeless by the August 4 explosion.
And the Democratic party will convene Monday evening, sort of, amid a pandemic that has upended the presidential nominating conventions. Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez will be in Milwaukee tonight, but presidential candidate Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris won't be.
