More than half a million people have been ordered to evacuate the Texas and Louisiana coasts ahead of Hurricane Laura. Forecasters expect the storm to grow into a Category 3 hurricane before it slams the U.S. coastline late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Anger over the shooting of a 29-year-old Black man has turned a southeastern Wisconsin city into the nation's latest flashpoint in a summer of racial unrest. Video of protest aftermath shows parts of downtown Kenosha in shambles after demonstrators set buildings, cars and dumpsters on fire before clashing with police.

Hundreds of teachers in Belarus took to the streets Tuesday in protest of freedom of opinion, and in direct defiance of President Alexander Lukashenko. On Monday, Lukashenko called on teachers protesting his re-election to resign. He said teachers working at State schools and universities must follow State ideology.

And, nearly 60 survivors, including a small child, were rescued from the rubble of a collapsed residential building in central India. At least one person was killed, and more than 20 are still feared trapped.
