A potential hurricane is approaching the Gulf Coast regions of Louisiana and Misssippi. Tropical Storm Sally is expected to reach hurricane strength on Monday and reach land early Tuesday.
At least two dozen people are now confirmed dead from the wildfires in California. Strong winds and low humidity are forecast to add to the fire danger on Monday.

Southern California authorities are searching for a suspect who shot and critically wounded two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. Surveillance video shows the suspect approach a parked squad car and open fire. Both deputies are expected to recover.
