State media in North Korea have said the final goal of the country’s leader Kim Jong-Un is military equilibrium with the United States. It said he wanted to make sure that America would not dare to talk about military option. The comments follow Pyongyang’s latest missile test which was strongly condemned by the UN Security Council.

The United States has urged the parliament in Iraq autonomous Kurdish region to abandon its plans for a referendum on independence. Washington warned the vote during nine days would distract from efforts to defeat Islamic State's militants in Iraq.

A woman in Jamaica said to be the oldest person in the world, Falad Morsprown, has died at the age of 117. She said the secret of her long life was to eat everything except pork and chicken and not to drink rum.

A new museum dedicated to graffiti is opening in Berlin today. The museum for urban contemporary art is being described as the first of its kind in the world. The exhibition displays exlusive work by more than 100 artists.
