Hello, I'm Neil Nunes with the BBC News.

One of president Trump's top advisers, his son-in-law Jared Kushner has had his White House security clearance downgraded. Mr. Kushner who's had interim clearance for about a year, will now be unable to view many sensitive documents. Wigue Bran reports from Washington.

Jared Kushner has been nicknamed the secretary for everything, such as the huge responsibility vested in him by his father-in-law, the president. The 37-year-old has been instructed to forge Middle East case, to liaise with Mexico and to be a key point man with China. But he is highly questionable whether he can properly perform any of those sensitive roles. Now that he doesn't have access to top secretive information. Until now, Mr. Kushner has been able to read the president's daily brief, a secret intelligence report. That won't happen that his security clearance is being downgraded.

A former governor of Venezuela's Lara state Henri Falcón has launched his candidacy for April's elections against president Nicolas Maduro despite the opposition coalition announcing it will boycott the vote. Mr. Falcon was once a close friend and ally of the late Venezuela president Hugo Chavez, but he later joined the opposition. His move is likely to anger the main opposition coalition.

The head of Brazil's federal police, Fernando Segovia has been sacked less than four months after been appointed. Brazilian media reported that he lost his job for giving a interview about a corruption case against the president Michel Temer. Here is Our America editor Leonardo Rusher.

Mr. Segovia angered prosecutors investigating corruption allegation against President Temer when he told Reuters News Agency earlier this month that he would recommend scraping the probe. He said there was no evidence against the president who has been accused of taking bribes for extend concessions to operate Brazilian ports. The dismissal was announced on the first day of the operation of the Internal Security Minister. The opposition finds the whole episode suspicious. They accuse president Temer of creating the new ministry as a maneuvre to divert the Federal Police Department from anti-corruption operations.
