Donald Trump has stressed that there will be no impact on national security from his decision to allow US companies to resume sales to the giant Chinese telecoms firm Huawei. Mr. Trump’s comment on tweet came a day after he and the Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed that the world’s two biggest economic powers should resume trade negotiations.

President Trump is now in South Korea where he’s due to meet US troops and visit the de-militarized zone between the North and the South. But in tweets about his schedule, he made no mention of any meeting with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

One of the main groups demanding civilian rule in Sudan has accused the military of breaking up a news conference on the eve of a planned demonstration. The protest scheduled for Sunday will be the first mass rally there since a demonstration at start of the month was met with deadly force.
