When the Taliban came to power, the international community, including America, immediately isolated billions and billions of dollars worth of aid, really cutting off the Taliban.

But of course, that had a huge impact on the country, because people in Afghanistan, civil service for example, haven't been getting paid, and as a result, families have been left to make awful decisions to try and make ends meet.

But now this US proposal, which has been backed by the UN, is about trying to get aid into the country for at least a year.
