At least thirty people have been killed in a spate of attacks across Afghanistan. Ten died in a series of blasts in the capital Kabul. There were more fatalities in Takhar province in the North and Nangarhar, which borders Kabul. Enetron Nasmyth reports.

Three bombs went off in quick succession in Kabul. A bus carrying mining ministry staff was hit by a suicide bomber before a second targeted people gathering to help the victims. Minutes later, another bombing said to be on an international forces convoy in eastern Kabul. The Taliban say they carried out that assault and another in Takhar on tow police checkpoints. In Nangarhar, a family traveling to a wedding were killed in a roadside blast. Some say the insurgents are increasing attacks to gain leverage in ongoing peace talks with the US. From the ground, at least, peace seems far away.
