A White house national security official has told congress that he heard president Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political rival Joe Biden and reported to a government lawyer. Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman is the first White House official to testify to impeachment inquiries. Mr.Trump insisted he did nothing wrong.
Anti-government protesters in Lebanon have been celebrating after the prime minister Saad Hariri submitted his resignation and that of his cabinet. Mr.Hariri said he has reached the dead end. The president has yet to announce whether he accepted the resignation.
MPs in London (are) motivating a proposal to hold a snap election in December to try to shift the stalemate of the Brexit. Prime minister Boris Johnson's government wants it to take place on December12th, but opposition parties hope to amend his legislation to hold the poll three days earlier.
Officials in western Cameroon say nearly 40 people have died in a landslide caused by heavy rain, many others have feared trapped. Rescuers in the highland town Bafoussam are looking for survivors.
Senators in the U.S have accused Boeing of putting profit over safety in its design of the 737 Max plane, which crashed twice in the space of five month. Nearly 350 people were killed in the crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. Boeing's chief of executive told congressional committee the company has made mistakes.
The government in the Indian capital Delhi has introduced free bus travel for women. The authorities say the measure will help commuters stay safe. 13,000 marshals have also been employed.
And Zimbabwe has begun circulating new currency notes and coins, a latest step towards fully restoring its own currency. The central bank reintroduced the Zimbabwean dollar in June, ten years after abandoning its domestic currency and replacing it with the U.S dollar.
