President Trump has been ordered to pay two million dollars to the state of New York to settle a lawsuit alleging he's misused his charitable foundation to further his political ambitions. The New York attorney general, Letitia James, who's a democrat, says the verdict shows that no one was above the law.

It has been disclosed that a senior US state department official has told the Trump impeachment inquiry that the president's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, conducted a smear campaign against the then American ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Ivanovich. Mr.Giuliani is a central figure in the democratic-led impeachment inquiry into whether President Trump made military aid to Ukraine conditional on an investigation into one of his political rivals.

The President of Burkina Faso, Marc Kaboré, has called for a national mobilization against terrorism following an attack on a mining convoy that left at least 38 people dead. The convoy was carrying workers at a gold mine owned by the Canadian company, Semafo.
