A six-year-old Virginia boy is recovering from some minor injuries after he took his mom's car on a joy ride to school of all places. State police say the child grabbed the keys to his mom's Ford Taurus after he missed the bus, and got a number of miles down the road before crashing into a utility pole.
He's played a lot of video games. He told me he is (into) Monster Truck Jam, Grand Theft Auto. He drove off the road by looking out the side of the window.
Other than that he did pretty well. All things considered, he crossed this bridge and made at least a couple of 90-degree turns before crashing just a mile and a half from school. Still, police say he didn't let this accident stop him.
The child got out of the vehicle, and actually started walking down the highway toward school. He was debounded and determined that he was gonna make it to school.
The child was picked up beforehand, and did have a bump on his head. His mom who was asleep at the time and his dad are both being charged with child endangerment.
