China's CPI, PPI Down in April
China has reported a drop in its inflation rate, for the third month in a row.
Its consumer price index, the main gauge of inflation, fell one and half percent, year on year in April.
Food prices dropped over 1 percent.
It's mainly due to a relatively big decline in pork prices, as demand plummeted, amid the global H1N1 flu outbreak.
Factory gate prices also dropped.
The producer price index, fell some six and half percent last month.
The State Information Center's Qi Jingmei.
"The continuous decline reflects the consumption demand and enterprises' production demand have all decreased. That will bring more pressure to the economy."
