苹果就电池门事件道歉

Apple has apologised after facing criticism for admitting it deliberately slows down some ageing iPhone models.

自承认其故意使老款iPhone运行变慢，苹果公司备受指责，目前苹果公司已就此事进行道歉。

Some customers had long suspected the company used the measure to encourage people to upgrade.

一直以来许多消费者都在怀疑苹果公司是否通过采用某种手段来促使苹果手机用户更换新版本的苹果手机。

Apple admitted to slowing battery performance, but said the measure aimed to "prolong the life" of the devices.

苹果公司承认他们降低了电池的性能，但表示该措施旨在延长设备的使用寿命。

The company has now said it will replace batteries for less and will issue software in 2018 so customers can monitor their phone’s battery health.

In a statement posted on its website, the firm said it would reduce the price of an out-of-warranty battery replacement from $79 to $29 for anyone with an iPhone 6 or later.

It said it was pushing ahead with measures to "address customers’ concerns, to recognise their loyalty and to regain the trust of anyone who may have doubted Apple’s intentions".
