Donald Trump has lashed out at the Russia investigation in a Saturday morning tweet storm that accused the Democrats of trying to blame him for not releasing a memo that defends the Federal Bureau of Investigation from claims of bias.

美国总统唐纳德.特朗普(Donald Trump)周六早上连发数篇推文抨击“通俄案”调查，指责民主党试图责怪他不发布一份宣称联邦调查局(FBI)不存在偏见的备忘录。

“Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new,” Mr Trump tweeted. “There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?”

特朗普在推文中表示：“人们的生活被仅仅一个指控扰乱和破坏。有些是真的，有些是假的。有些是旧的，有些是新的。对于被错误指责的人来说，没有任何补救措施——生活和职业都没有了。难道现在不再有正当程序这样的事情了吗？”

His tweets came the day after he refused to declassify a memo written by Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, that rebuts the FBI accusations in a rival document produced by Devin Nunes, the Republican head of the panel. Mr Trump released the Nunes memo last week over the objections of the FBI which said his action would be “extremely reckless”.

Don McGahn, White House counsel, on Friday told the House intelligence panel that Mr Trump was “inclined to declassify” the Schiff memo, but he wanted the justice department to help the Democratic lawmakers revise the document to remove information that could damage national security.

The decision not to release the Schiff memo sparked claims of hypocrisy from the Democrats. Critics have pointed out that Mr Trump on the evening of the State of the Union had told a Republican lawmaker that he would “100 per cent” release the Nunes memo even though he had not read the document at that time and was being asked to hold back by the FBI director.

民主党人认为，特朗普不发表希夫备忘录的决定是虚伪的。批评者指出，特朗普在发表国情咨文的那天晚上曾告诉共和党议员，他“百分之百”将会发布努内斯的备忘录，即便他当时还没有看这份文件，而且FBI局长还要求他搁置该文件。

“The president’s double standard when it comes to transparency is appalling,” Chuck Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, said on Friday after the White House said it was not ready to release the Schiff memo. “The rationale for releasing the Nunes memo, transparency, vanishes when it could show information that’s harmful to him. Millions of Americans are asking one simple question: what is he hiding?”

On Saturday, Mr Trump accused the Democrats of deliberating writing a much longer document than the four-page Nunes memo, so that he would be forced to redact information or withhold its release.

The Nunes memo accused the FBI of bias when it asked a secret intelligence court for a warrant to conduct electronic surveillance of Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser. The Schiff memo rebuts the claims in the Nunes memo, which many critics have said is a flawed document.

The Nunes memo alleges that the FBI based the warrant request on the Steele memo — raw intelligence compiled by Christopher Steele, a former MI6 operative, for a firm called Fusion GPS that was being paid by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to find dirt on Mr Trump.

Fusion GPS was originally paid by a Republican who was trying to prevent Mr Trump from winning the Republican presidential nomination. But its investigative efforts were later funded by the DNC which was trying to help Hillary Clinton beat Mr Trump. Allies of Mr Trump have accused Fusion GPS and Mr Steele of deliberately trying to destroy his campaign, and his presidency.

Mr Schiff on Friday slammed the decision by Mr Trump not to release his memo. “After ignoring urging of FBI & DOJ not to release misleading Nunes memo because it omits material facts, @POTUS now expresses concerns over sharing precisely those facts with public and seeks to send it back to the same Majority that produced the flawed Nunes memo to begin with,” he tweeted.
